Organizations We Support
We support a range of local and national organizations aligned with our mission including:
“Mercy Chefs is a faith-based, non-profit disaster and humanitarian relief organization.” The SLW Foundation began partnering with Mercy Chefs during their response to Hurricane Helene and has since continued to support their efforts through subsequent relief missions, including the LA fires and Central Texas floods.
“Since 9/11, [T2T] has been helping America’s heroes by providing mortgage-free homes to Gold Star and fallen first responder families with young children and by building specially-adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. [They] are also committed to eradicating veteran homelessness and helping America to Never Forget September 11, 2001.”
“Make-A-Wish Texas Gulf Coast and Louisiana has granted more than 12,000 wishes since its inception in 1984. We seek to bring every eligible child’s wish to life because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey.” Our connection to Make-A-Wish began through our board member Renee, whose years of dedication to the organization inspired the Foundation to get involved. Together, we’ve been honored to help make wishes come true for children and families facing life-changing challenges.
“BEAR…BE A Resource is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization improving lives by providing hope and help for at-risk and CPS-involved children and their caretakers in the greater Houston area.” Having supported BEAR for years through their mother’s involvement, Victoria, Lillian, and Jack wanted to further that commitment by bringing the Foundation on board. BEAR’s trusted reputation and deep impact on Houston’s children made it a natural fit for the Foundation’s mission.
“Kids’ Meals is ending childhood hunger by delivering free, healthy meals to the doorsteps of Greater Houston’s hungriest preschool-aged children and through collaboration providing their families with resources to help end the cycle of poverty.” Victoria and Lillian have supported Kids’ Meals for many years by helping prepare and deliver meals to children in need. Their involvement led them to introduce the Foundation to the organization, expanding its support for local families facing food insecurity.
“CFC educates individuals, supports families, and strengthens the community by: providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to excel, promoting opportunities for adults to learn, and advancing cultural understanding and community partnerships. CFC offers community-based social and educational services to low-income families in Houston’s East End. Since its inception in 1972, CFC has grown to an agency with an annual budget exceeding $2.6 million and serves more than 24,000 clients each year.”
“Clayton Dabney for Kids with Cancer provides anonymous assistance to financially struggling families throughout the country with children in the final stages of terminal cancer, allowing them to create everlasting memories with their child.”
“We provide Shelter, Love and Hope to to Young People Facing Homelessness. Covenant House Texas is a faith-based organization committed to giving homeless youth a safe haven, absolute respect, unconditional love and a path to lasting independence. In partnership with the community, we are the voice for the homeless youth.”
